Dear Parents and Guardians,

I would like to first and foremost thank you for your ongoing support as we work together to improve students’ progress and welfare at this stage of the academic year.

Our Year 12 students will soon be given their personal exam timetables as well as the VCE Exam Navigator 2018 booklet from the VCAA. This booklet will contain the following important information for students and parents:

• General advice about VCE examinations
• Approved material and equipment for 2018 VCE written examinations
• VCAA rules for the conduct of VCE external assessments
• 2018 VCE examination timetable- pull-out poster
• Advice for students for languages oral examinations
• Special Provision
• 2018 VCE Results and ATAR Service.

I encourage all VCE parents to also visit the VCAA website (link below) and select parents to gain more of an insight to the VCE studies, structure and assessments.

Students should be using this term to revise for upcoming SACs and examinations and complete their VTAC entries. At the same time, please ensure that you have conversations on stress management and effective study sessions.

2019 NAPLAN Online Transition

Sirius College Meadow Fair Campus will make the transition from paper to online NAPLAN next year. In preparation for this, the current Year 7 and 9 students will complete a NAPLAN Online School Readiness Test (SRT) this term. The SRT is not an actual NAPLAN test and it is NOT an assessment of your child’s literacy and numeracy skills. The purpose of the SRT is school readiness to transition to NAPLAN Online.

The SRT is intended to give schools an opportunity to confirm their ICT capacity, determine the most effective way to deliver NAPLAN Online and provide staff with an introduction to the tests. It will also assist us in preparation for any technical issues that may arise.
